The story of the farm
Schellerup Gård is an old farm built back in 1910. Back then there was nothing but a main building and a barn and 12 ha of farmland. In 1960, an extra building was added and the agricultural land was changed to forest land. In 2005, the farm was bought by the previous owners Anja and Kent, who completely renovated the farm. The main building was given an upper floor, and all the roofing was changed to thatched roof. Here they also created the 3 apartments as we have today. They spent 3 years before the farm was finished, and the farm became their home for 16 years.
We took over the farm in autumn 2021 with the dream of making the farm a fantastic place for us, our children, our local community and not least for you, our guests! We have many plans but continue to run the farm in the same spirit and with respect for history. We still see Anja and Kent regularly, as the purchase contract contains a phrase that they must drink red wine on a monthly basis.

The sauna is a unique form of therapy that affects both body and mind. In addition to magical warmth, it also creates space for meditation, enjoyment and social gatherings.
On our small farm, we have tried to lift the classic sauna experience a bit by bringing nature close. Our sauna is equipped with a full panoramic view over the small lake, which is surrounded by magical undisturbed forrest in the background. An experience which is hard to described, and needs to be experienced.
It is both possible for our guests and visitors to rent the sauna for private events, or participate in our planned sessions. Either our special events or so-called "open sessions".
Note: It is not permitted to bring anything other than water into the sauna.
Wilderness bath
Next to our sauna, we have set up a wilderness outdoor spa. With a magical view over the lake, there is plenty of opportunity to sit back and enjoy the moment. Whether it is with friends or with your one and only, it's up to you.

Note: It is not permitted to bring eat or drink in the wilderness spa.
The lake
The lake is our little oasis that attracts a rich wildlife and not least trees and plants. The lake is 3 meters deep and approx 60 x 40 meters large. So there is plenty of opportunity to take a swim.
The forrest
The forest forms the most beautiful setting for the farm and the small lake. Here you will find both old and new young forest, where trees such as beech, oak, birch and various conifers stand side by side and create a safe home for a lot of local wildlife.
All visiting guests are more than welcome to take a walk in the forest. At the edge of the forest pointing towards east, there is also the nicest little bench where you can take a rest and enjoy the view over the fields.

Places to visit
Herning City
Herning is located in Central Jutland and is the capital of Herning Municipality. The city is the fourth largest in Region Central Jutland and has just over 50,000 inhabitants.
Herning is known as a congress and fair city because of Messecenter Herning. The large multi-arena, Jyske Bank Boxen, which was built at MCH Messecenter Herning. The large arena which can facilitate 12-15,000 spectators was opened by Lady Gaga in October 2010, but had its baptism of fire with sold-out semi-round and final matches in connection to the European Women's Handball Championships in December 2010.
Herning is today a growing city, in contrast to more stagnant areas in central and western Jutland. This is mainly due to the fact that for many years the city council has had a conscious strategy to attract jobs and develop cultural life in the area in and around Herning. Herning is also known as an enterprising trading town with a large range of both chain stores and specialty stores.

See the historic bunkers from the wartime, experience the scenic dunes and visit one of the many fish restaurants in the area. The North Sea is also known for its raw, rugged beauty and its powerful waves that attract surfers and other water sports enthusiasts.
Aarhus

Aarhus is Denmark's second largest city and one of the oldest cities in the country with a history that dates back to the Viking Age. The city is located in the eastern part of Jutland and is known for its vibrant cultural life and its impressive architecture. Aarhus is home to many museums, including the ARoS art museum and Den Gamle By, which shows life in Denmark in the old days. The city is also known for its university and its young and lively atmosphere, which makes it a popular place to study and live. There are many restaurants, bars and cafés in Aarhus that serve delicious food and drink, and the city is also known for its exciting nightlife.
Silkeborg

Lalandia Billund is a popular holiday park located in Billund, Denmark, close to LEGOLAND theme park. The park is known for its many indoor and outdoor activities and attractions that are suitable for both children and adults. There is a large indoor water park with water slides, pools and a spa area, as well as a range of other activities such as mini golf, bowling, climbing and a play area. Lalandia Billund also has a number of eateries, shops and entertainment options.

Jyllands Parkzoo is a charming zoo located in Haunstrup, near Herning, Jutland, Denmark. The park is known for its unique atmosphere and focus on interaction with the animals.
Visitors can enjoy a wide variety of animals including lions, giraffes, kangaroos and many other exciting species.
The park also has playgrounds and picnic areas where families can relax and enjoy a nice day out in nature. There are also cafes and kiosks where you can buy refreshments and food.
Legoland

Legoland is a theme park known for its LEGO themes and attractions. The park is located in Billund, and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the country. There are more than 50 different rides and activities in the park, including slides, water attractions, kid-friendly rides and LEGO building workshops. There are also LEGO exhibits that display impressive buildings and figures made from LEGO bricks. Legoland is a fun and entertaining place for both children and adults who are LEGO fans or just want to have a good day at the park.

Silkeborg is a city located in Central Jutland, Denmark, known for its beautiful nature and idyllic lakes and forests. The town is located on the lake Silkeborg Langsø, and there are many activities you can do in the area, such as sailing trips, canoeing and kayaking trips and hiking.
